NZ Junior Rugby Festival

The New Zealand junior rugby festival is held for junior rugby teams from under 9’s to under 13?s, giving kids that miss out on representative footy the chance to tour and play other clubs from all over the country at the end of season.

The tournament was the brainchild of Tyrone Campbell who brought the concept back from Europe after his O.E. The first event kicked off in 2010 in Taupo with the support of King Country Rugby Football Union, clubs from all over New Zealand took part from Taieri RFC in Dunedin to HoraHora RFC in Whangarei and everywhere in between for a great weekend of rugby and friendship.

The tournament proved so popular; there is now a south island leg of the event held in Queenstown. The goal for the tournament is simple, enjoyment first and foremost.

There are three awards up for grabs in each age group at the New Zealand Junior Rugby Festival, ensuring that whatever level of team, you are guaranteed to be playing in finals football on the last day regardless of results on the first day, ensuring satisfaction for all.
